The Council is currently embarking on a fumigation exercise in all the markets within the municipality. The exercise which commenced on the 6th August was geared towards the reduction of insect related infections such as maggots, house fly, mosquitoes, and cock roaches etc thereby further creating conducive environments at the markets for both the vendors and buyers. More importantly, it also reduces food poisoning the result of which could be detrimental to society.

The Council is indeed very much concerned with the health of the residents of the municipality, thus the reason for the cleaning exercises all over the municipality. This exercise was held at the following markets during the last two days;
