Mayor Bensouda Appoints Ebrima Colley As The Councilor of Differently Abled Community
The lord Mayor is extremely proud to announce that in the first of its kind, The Kanifing Municipal Council will be the first council in the history of The Gambia to have a nominated councilor representing the society of the Differently abled and Physically Challenged.
Meet Ebrima Colley!
Mr. Colley is a Gambian by birth. He attended Latrikunda Sabiji Primary School and after his sixth grade exams, he proceeded to the St. Theresa’s Secondary School.
In an effort to capacitized himself, Colley enrolled at the Gambia Technical Training Institute where he studied Level 1 and 2 in Electronics Servicing. Thereafter, he enrolled and bagged diplomas in Management and Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Management Development Institute ((MDI).
Mr Colley later travelled to Cairo, Egypt, and enrolled at the Africa National Olympic Institute where he graduated with a diploma in Administration and Sports Development. He also attended MOI International Sport Science Institute in Nairobi, Kenya where he obtained a Diploma in Sports Science, and Administration.
His determination to widen his knowledge led him to the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where he completed with a certificate in Advocacy and Human Security.
WORK EXPERIENCE
The Bundung born activist worked in many institutions in the Gambia. He served as a Senior Electoral Officer at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) before been contracted for one month as a Computer Data Analyst for the Central Statistic Department.
Colley also served as project coordinator, recruitment and selection Officer for Kingfisher Trust, The Gambia. Other Institutions in which he worked are the Voluntary Services Overseas ( VSO), The Gambia National Paralympics Committee as Administrative Secretary, The Gambia Federation of the Disabled as Treasurer, and the Cilip project.
Mr. Colley has 20 years’ experience working in the disability sector in the process representing the physically challenged in many national and international forums.
Presently, he is the Secretary General of the Bundung National Youth development Association.
KMC Donated Several Equipment To The Gambia National Paralympic Association
Lord Mayor Bensouda, Deputy Mayor Musa Bah and Cllr Ebrima Colley handed over several equipment to the physically challenged of The Gambia National Paralympic Association. We would like to give a special thank you to Dawda Jammeh for his donation. Mayor Bensouda encouraged able Gambians to follow in Mr. Jammeh’s footsteps.
