The Council recently concluded a massive clearing of the Kotu Pond area and diverse places within the municipality to mitigate the dangers associated with Environmental hazards.

These massive clearing of dumps and water ponds was done by the Department of Services with the collaboration of Zen Construction as the council seeks to mitigate the effects of any possible flooding within the Municipality.

It is public knowledge that the Council spends huge amounts of funds to clear illegal dumps, and the amount of time and financial resources employed in this exercise is an avoidable cost levied on the council.

In light of the forgoing, the general public is hereby informed and warned accordingly that from henceforth, stringent measures will be taken against people engaged in this illegal act.
